AjitJalandhar.com now proudly serves you spyware!

Beware! AjitJalandhar.com, one of the earliest Punjabi newspapers online, (and a mouth-piece of a certain political party - but thats a different story) is now serving not just politically biased news, but some freshly baked spyware forcibly to your PC!

Ajit spy Ware

What should you do?

  • Shift to Linux or Leopard
  • Use Firefox. On my Mac Book Pro, it showed the popup, but did not download the spyware, compared to Safari which did download the spyware. I would love to hear from windows Firefox users about their experience though.

Safari for for windows has bug which downloads anything without prompting user. I am not sure if this is a case with Mac as well but I am regular visitor of Ajit and never got any prompt or anything downloaded from website.

    Brar Sahib

Follow these steps and you should be fine.

    1) Download Satluj font by clicking http://www.ajitjalandhar.com/SATLUJ.TTF 2) The font file will be downloaded to Downloads folder or on your desktop, depending on if you are using Safari or Firefox. 3) Double click to open the font file. It will automatically open in an application called Font book. It will show an option called Install font. Click and Install satluj font. 4) Now restart Safari. 5) If you still don’t see Punjabi fonts, go to View > Text Encoding > and select Western (ISO Latin 1).

You should be able to see website in Punjabi.

Hi, I tried to use your method to install the font but nothing happens on safari. When I look in font book it does not render anything. (I am currently using OS X leopard 10.5.6)
